Acne Studios is recruiting a Sustainability Specialist with the task of delivering short- and long-term initiatives focused on climate and production processes aligned with Acne Studios’ sustainability strategy. This is a role where you will get the opportunity to contribute to reduce Acne Studios’ climate impact in-line with science-based targets in a progressive fashion house while developing collaborative partnerships with internal and external partners.
This is a role that entails measuring performance and progress of strategies for the designated focus areas and execute improvement and initiatives. This includes setting and overseeing seasonal targets on sustainable processing techniques on water, energy, and chemical usage. Further, you will gather, consolidate and analyze emission data from suppliers and other sources for the annual climate report. You will identify concrete measures to reduce climate impact on scope 1, 2, & 3 emissions. As a sustainability specialist you will follow different developments on scientific research, legislation, certifications, innovations, and trends. You will coordinate supplier evaluations, projects and partnerships on environmental performance with relevant cross functional partners. You will report to Sustainability Director and belong to the Product & Development department.
This is a temporary position during a parental leave, full time throughout approximately 1 year, starting in February 2024.
We are looking for someone with an academic degree within sustainability, engineering, textile technology or another relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience from a similar role preferably from high fashion brands. You are an analytic and strategic environmentalist with a technical understanding of sustainability issues within the fashion industry. You have experience from performing climate calculations according to GHG Protocol, and have technical knowledge of wet processes, chemicals, certifications and treatment for textiles and leather. Experience in PLM and/or Higg index is a merit. You have high aspirations and understand the importance of excellence. You act with integrity at all times and have a natural ability to influence and build trust. You value simplicity over complexity and are guided by impact rather than prestige. You are pragmatic and hands-on and get things done. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and teamwork are highly valued.
